The OPTIMESS RIS-3D road survey system is used to reliably record the condition of the road. The laser sensors enable non-contact acquisition of the structure and profile of the road in longitudinal and transverse direction.
Two OPTIMESS 2D HLS form the central component of the measuring system. Other sensors such as GPS, encoders and accelerometers complement the system.
The measurement data from the laser sensors, accelerometers, GPS and encoders are directly calculated and processed while driving. Thanks to the high measuring frequency of the sensors, the road condition can be reliably measured at speeds above 100 km/h without obstruction of the traffic.
The OPTIMESS RIS-3D measuring system enables a 3-dimensional recording of the road surface. The height profile is mapped into a 3-dimensional fine-mesh grid. Movements of the measuring vehicle and the measuring equipment are detected and corrected via the integrated movement sensors.

During the measurement run, the data is recorded in a central computing unit and processed further into the data formats of the corresponding output streams. The data is made available via a Gigabit Ethernet interface.
The configuration of the data acquisition and data processing is done via the Gigabit Ethernet interface.
